MASTERING HAPPINESS

“the ultimate form of self-defence.”

The Challenge

Mastering happiness is an existential challenge. Echoing Aristotle’s words from over 2300 years ago more than anything else, men and women seek happiness. While happiness is sought for its own sake, every other goal - health, beauty, money, power - is only valued because we expect them to make us happy.

However, the various misguided ways we have sought happiness has failed our potential in enjoying happiness.

The Solution

As the challenge, that is much due to our own making, also the solutions are in our own hands. For this we will need to seek a deeper understanding of happiness and ourselves. Ultimately, our whole happiness discourse needs an existential twist.

It is not I HAVE happy

It is not I DO happy

It is I AM HAPPY!

Psychology of Possibilities

From traditional psychology and positive psychology I have come to develop an approach called a Psychology of Possibilities (PoP). The PoP embraces an existential mindset with a deep sense of freedom and responsibility. It seeks to discover the full potential of who we are and can be - together!
